So I’ve stayed at Osada Chłabówka a couple times now, and honestly? It’s one of those places that just gets it right. You know how most hotels either nail the location or the amenities but rarely both? Well, this one’s tucked up in Chłabówka Górna – which sounds fancy but is really just the upper part of this little village area about 10 minutes from central Zakopane. The thing is, being slightly removed from all the tourist chaos on Krupówki Street actually works in your favor here. You get those proper Tatra Mountain views without the constant stream of tour buses rumbling past your window at 7am.
The spa situation is actually legit, not just some afterthought wellness center they slapped onto the name. I mean, after spending a day hiking around Morskie Oko or dealing with the crowds at Gubałówka, you really appreciate having a proper sauna and those heated pools. The water’s got this slight mineral smell – in a good way – and they keep the temperature just right. What I really like is how they’ve designed the spa area with these big windows facing the mountains, so you’re soaking in warm water while looking out at snow-capped peaks. It’s sort of surreal, honestly. The massage therapists know their stuff too, though I’d book ahead during peak season because everyone’s got the same idea after a day on the slopes.
The rooms themselves feel authentically Polish mountain style without being kitschy about it – lots of natural wood, but modern bathrooms and actually decent Wi-Fi (which you can’t take for granted in some of these mountain places). My room had this little balcony that looked out toward Giewont, and you could hear the Białka River if you opened the windows at night. Parking’s included and easy, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling ski gear or hiking boots. The restaurant downstairs does solid regional food – their oscypek cheese appetizer is better than what you’ll get from the street vendors in town, and the portions are generous enough that you won’t leave hungry. Check-in was smooth both times, staff speaks decent English, and they actually seem to know the area well enough to give useful hiking recommendations. One small thing – the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re unlucky with neighbors it can get a bit noisy, but that’s pretty standard for mountain hotels. Overall though, it’s the kind of place where a 9 rating actually makes sense. You’re paying 4-star prices but getting an experience that feels more thoughtful than your typical chain hotel.
