I mean, Orkana street itself is this quiet residential area where you’ll see more locals walking their dogs than people dragging suitcases – which is exactly what you want after a long day hiking in the Tatras. The apartment setup works really well here too, especially if you’re staying more than just a night or two. Having a proper kitchen means you can actually cook some of those amazing local ingredients from the market instead of eating out every single meal (your wallet will thank you, trust me).

What really got me was how the place just… works. The check-in was smooth – no standing around for twenty minutes while they figure out their system. The apartments themselves are clean and functional without being fancy, and honestly, that’s perfect for Zakopane. You’re not here to spend time admiring your hotel room anyway. The beds are comfortable enough that you’ll actually recover from those mountain hikes, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which – let’s be real – isn’t something you can take for granted everywhere in this part of Poland. Parking was straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to park near the center of Zakopane during peak season, you’ll know is basically a miracle. The whole vibe is just unpretentious and practical, kind of like Zakopane itself used to be before it got all touristy. I appreciated that the staff seemed to actually live in the area – they gave me better hiking recommendations than any guidebook I’d read. The 8 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. For families or groups who want independence and a good base for exploring the mountains without paying resort prices, this is honestly one of the smarter choices in town.
