You know what surprised me most about Natur Views? It’s actually tucked away on Tatranská street in a way that feels completely separate from the touristy chaos of the main Veľká Lomnica area, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, when I first pulled up – and yes, there’s decent parking which honestly was a relief after driving those winding mountain roads – the whole place just felt… intentional, I guess? Like someone really thought about where to put these chalets so you’d wake up to those Tatra Mountain views without feeling like you’re living in a postcard display.
The chalets themselves are what really sold me on this place. They’ve got this modern alpine thing going on that doesn’t feel forced or overly designed, and the interiors are actually spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped after a day of hiking. What I loved most was how quiet it gets in the evenings – you’re far enough from the main tourist drags that you don’t have groups stumbling around at midnight, but close enough that you can walk to decent restaurants without needing to drive everywhere. The whole setup feels more like borrowing someone’s really nice mountain house than staying at a typical hotel. And honestly, for a 4-star place, they’ve nailed that balance between having everything you need without making it feel stuffy or overly formal.
Here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t realize until they visit – Veľká Lomnica is perfectly positioned for day trips to both the High Tatras and the quieter eastern parts of the range, but it’s not overrun like Zakopane or some of the Austrian ski towns. The staff at Natur Views actually know the hiking trails and can point you toward the less crowded routes, which is worth its weight in gold during summer season. I stayed there in late September and the weather was perfect – crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and those incredible mountain sunsets that make you want to sit on your chalet’s terrace way longer than planned. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re not renting a car, you’ll want to plan ahead for getting around, since it’s not right in the village center. But honestly, that’s part of what makes it special – you get that peaceful mountain retreat feeling while still being connected to everything. The 9-point rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of place where the small details just work, and you find yourself already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.
