When I was looking for a small cozy hotel in Truskavets, Мини-отель “Ольга” turned out to be a real gem. Located on Mykhaila Hrushevs’koho Street right on the first floor, it’s perfect for those who don’t like dragging suitcases up stairs — especially after a long day of walking around the city. It’s a three-star establishment, but don’t let the number fool you — there’s everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The hotel owners are very welcoming people who know the city like the back of their hand. They’re happy to tell you where to get the best mineral water (not just at the pump room!), where to go for an evening stroll, and which restaurants serve authentic Galician cuisine. The rooms are clean and tidy, though small — but who spends all their time in the room when there’s so much interesting stuff around? The windows look out onto local streets, and it’s pleasant to wake up in the morning to birdsong rather than the rumble of cars.
What I particularly liked was the location. You can walk to the center in 10-15 minutes at a leisurely pace, and it’s even closer to the main pump rooms. There’s parking available, though not too many spots, so it’s better to come outside peak season (July-August can get hectic). Breakfasts are simple but tasty — homemade cheese, fresh bread, tea with local herbs. Overall, if you’re looking not for a luxury palace but just a nice place to spend the night with a soulful atmosphere, this is exactly what you need.
