Mini Hotel Furmi turned out to be a pleasant surprise during my vacation in Skhidnitsa. This three-star hotel is located on Shevchenko Street, literally just a few minutes’ walk from the main mineral water springs. When I arrived in autumn, the hosts greeted me very warmly — they clearly take pride in their small establishment and know all guests by name. Parking is free right at the hotel, which is very convenient, especially if you’re driving your own car.
The rooms are compact but thoughtfully designed down to the smallest details. I had a room on the second floor with a mountain view — in the morning it’s simply magical, especially when the fog slowly disperses over the slopes. Hot water is available constantly (I checked even late at night), WiFi works stably even in the room. Breakfast is served in a small dining room on the first floor — nothing extraordinary, but everything is fresh and tasty. The hostess makes wonderful cheese pancakes, and the borscht is just like grandma’s. The only thing that might be slightly bothersome is the sounds from the street in the morning when locals go to work, but this adds authenticity rather than truly disturbs.
What I particularly liked about Mini Hotel Furmi is the feeling of homely comfort. There’s no excessive luxury of a five-star hotel here, but there’s something that large hotels often lack: attention to guests and genuine hospitality. The hosts are happy to tell you about the best walking routes, recommend where to try authentic Hutsul cuisine, and can even arrange transfers to nearby attractions. Autumn in Skhidnitsa is especially beautiful — the colors are simply incredible, and the hotel window offers a wonderful view of it all. The price completely corresponds to the quality, especially when compared to resort hotels in larger cities.
