The thing is, most people book this place thinking it’s just a convenient crash pad before catching a flight, but honestly, it works really well as a proper base for exploring Sibiu. The rooms have that modern Mercure vibe – clean lines, decent beds, and those little touches that remind you you’re in a 4-star place without being flashy about it. What I appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re on a main road. The soundproofing is solid, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to recover from travel or get decent sleep before an early flight. Check-in was smooth too – the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, which isn’t always a given at chain hotels.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture: yes, you’re close to the airport (maybe 15 minutes), but you’re also positioned perfectly for day trips around Transylvania if that’s your thing. The parking situation is straightforward – no hunting around narrow medieval streets like you’d deal with closer to the citadel. And if you do want to hit the historic center, it’s not like you’re stranded out here. The breakfast was better than I expected too, though I’ll be honest – it’s hotel breakfast, so don’t expect miracles. But they had proper coffee and enough variety that you won’t leave hungry. The whole place has this sort of understated efficiency that I’ve come to appreciate in Romanian hotels – they’re not trying to wow you with over-the-top service, but everything just works the way it should. At an 8.2 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s one of those places where you realize that sometimes the best travel experiences come from hotels that simply deliver on their promises without any drama.
