Medova Hata became a real discovery during our trip to the Carpathians — a small three-star hotel located right in the heart of Mykulychyn at 42 Kosmonavtiv Street. When we first saw this place, we immediately understood we were in good hands: the hosts greeted us with traditional hospitality, and the hotel itself turned out to be a cozy wooden house with authentic Carpathian atmosphere. Parking is free and right at the entrance (especially important after a long serpentine drive), and check-in went smoothly — the staff immediately told us about the best hiking routes and where to try authentic Hutsul cuisine.
The rooms at Medova Hata are simple but very clean and warm — in winter this is critically important because it’s really cold in the mountains. The plumbing works perfectly, hot water is always available, and the windows offer wonderful views of the surrounding slopes. Sound insulation is decent, though sometimes you can hear neighbors returning from evening walks, but this rather adds to the mountain retreat atmosphere than disturbs. Breakfasts are homemade and hearty — borscht, syrniki, fresh bread, and of course honey (no wonder the hotel is called “Honey House”!). In summer it’s especially beautiful here: you can sit on the terrace until late evening, listening to the mountain silence and planning tomorrow’s hikes. The hosts are always ready to give advice on where to go, where to take the best photos, and can even organize transfers to popular locations — very convenient for those who come without their own car.
