Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Marcos Apartments on Ion Corvin street, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the building’s exterior. It’s one of those typical Romanian residential blocks that you see everywhere in Reşiţa, but you know what? Sometimes the best places are hiding in plain sight.
The self check-in thing actually works pretty smoothly here, which surprised me because I’ve had some nightmare experiences with those key lockboxes at other places. Marcos has it figured out though – clear instructions, responsive communication, and you’re not left standing around wondering if you’re at the right door. The apartment itself is on the third floor (there’s an elevator, thank god), and once you’re inside, it’s honestly quite comfortable. The space feels bigger than you’d expect, with decent natural light and – this matters more than people think – really good WiFi throughout. I mean, I was able to work from the little dining area without any issues, and the connection stayed solid even when it was raining heavily outside.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Reşiţa isn’t exactly a party town, but even so, this street is pretty residential and peaceful. You’ll hear the occasional car, sure, but nothing that kept me awake. The kitchen is actually functional too – not just one of those sad hotel kitchenettes with a broken microwave and no proper knives. There’s a full-sized fridge, decent cookware, and even some basic supplies left behind (salt, oil, that sort of thing). Parking was easier than I expected for this area – there’s usually space right in front of the building or around the corner, and it’s free street parking which is always nice. The 7.9 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but it delivers on what it promises without any major headaches. If you’re looking for marble bathrooms and room service, keep looking. But if you want a clean, practical base in Reşiţa that won’t break the bank and gives you some independence – especially if you’re staying for more than just a night or two – this place actually works really well. Plus, you’re walking distance to the main pedestrian area and some decent restaurants, which beats being stuck out in some hotel complex on the outskirts of town.
