Крокус Мія turned out to be a real find during my last trip to the Carpathians — a four-star hotel that feels much cozier than its official category suggests. Located on Pidkovy Street in Slavske, it’s close enough to the ski lifts (about 10 minutes on foot), but at the same time in a quiet part of the village where you’re only woken by birds in the morning, not the rumble of tourist buses. Free parking right at the hotel is a big plus, especially in winter when you don’t want to drag your skis halfway across the village. Check-in was quick, the staff friendly and ready to give advice about local slopes and restaurants.
The rooms are clean and quite spacious, though the design is a bit dated — but that’s not critical when you spend most of the day on the slopes. Hot water is always available (I checked even after returning from the mountains in the evening), heating works well, which is important in February. Wi-Fi works reasonably well, though it sometimes slows down on upper floors. My room had a nice mountain view — not directly of Trostyan, but atmospheric nonetheless. Breakfast is included and quite decent: porridge, scrambled eggs, sausages, cheeses, vegetables — nothing fancy, but filling and tasty. There’s a small restaurant where you can eat dinner if you don’t feel like going into the village.
What I liked most was the location — near the main part of Slavske, but without the hustle and bustle of the center. It’s about 15 minutes walk to “Zakhar Berkut”, a bit less to the new lifts on Politekhnichnaya. In winter the road to the hotel is well cleared, no problems with access. In summer, I imagine it’s also beautiful here — forest all around, clean air, you can go hiking. For the money (I booked a month before the trip) — a solid option, especially if you’re looking for peace after an active day in the mountains. I’d come back here again, maybe for longer holidays.
