Котедж in Mizhhirʼʼya turned out to be a pleasant discovery for our mountain getaway. This three-star hotel is located on Hrabovets Street, in a quiet area where you’re woken up in the morning not by cars, but by birds. The owners are very friendly — they met us personally, showed us the best place to park (there are enough spots, don’t worry), and told us about the best routes around the area. The rooms are simple but cozy, with everything you need — hot water is always available, Wi-Fi works fine, though it can sometimes act up during rain.
What I particularly liked was the atmosphere of a genuine mountain retreat. In the morning you can step out onto the terrace with coffee and admire the Carpathian views, and in the evening the hosts often light a bonfire in the yard (weather permitting). Breakfasts are homemade — not luxurious, but tasty and filling, especially after long mountain walks. The staff is always ready to recommend where to go for excursions or where to find the best local dishes. It’s about fifteen minutes on foot to the center of Mizhhirʼʼya, where there are several restaurants and shops.
The hotel operates year-round, but it’s best to come here in spring or autumn — fewer tourists, and nature is simply incredible. It’s also beautiful here in winter, especially if you love skiing, since it’s not far to the lifts. The only downside — the walls aren’t very thick, so if neighbors are noisy, it can be audible (though we were lucky with quiet neighbors). Overall, for the money, Kotedzh gives exactly what you need for a peaceful mountain vacation — cleanliness, comfort, and genuine Ukrainian hospitality.
