The first thing that hits you is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between mountain lodge charm and actual luxury. I mean, the jacuzzi situation is legit – not one of those tiny hotel tubs that barely fits two people. This is the real deal, and after a day hiking around Giewont (which, let’s be honest, kicks your ass), sinking into hot bubbling water while looking out at the Tatras is pretty much perfect. The rooms themselves have this modern Polish mountain vibe going on – think clean lines but with enough wood and traditional touches that you remember where you are. The beds are actually comfortable too, which isn’t always a given in this part of the world.

What really got me though was the attention to detail. The staff genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing, and they know the area inside and out. When I asked about hiking routes, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he actually drew out a route based on the weather and what I was looking for. Plus, parking is sorted (trust me, this matters more than you’d think in this area), and the whole place has this quiet, almost zen-like quality. You’re not dealing with bus loads of tourists stomping around at 6 AM, but you’re also not so isolated that getting dinner becomes a mission. The location puts you about a 15-minute drive to Zakopane proper, but honestly, Kościelisko has its own charm – better restaurants, fewer crowds, and you still get those incredible mountain views that everyone comes here for. I’d definitely go back, especially in winter when the whole valley turns into something from a fairy tale and that jacuzzi becomes less of a luxury and more of a necessity.
