Hotel Катерина in Chynadiyovo turned out to be a real gem for our family vacation in the Carpathians. This cozy three-star hotel is located on Michurina Street — a quiet spot where you wake up in the morning not to car noise, but to birdsong. Parking is free right at the entrance, which is very convenient when you’re hauling lots of gear for a mountain getaway. Check-in was quick (the hosts are very friendly), and within half an hour we were unpacking in a clean room with mountain views.

What I especially loved was the homey atmosphere. The hotel is small, so the staff remembers guests and can suggest where to eat the best local dishes or where to go on excursions. In autumn, the scenery around is simply incredible — golden forests on the slopes, fresh air you want to breathe for hours. The rooms are simple, but everything necessary is there: hot water, decent Wi-Fi (which isn’t always guaranteed in the mountains), comfortable beds. Soundproofing is pretty good — even when neighbors returned late from hiking, it didn’t bother us. Breakfasts are homemade, portions generous, and the coffee is real, not instant. For this price and with an 8.0 rating — it’s truly a great choice for those looking for a peaceful place in the Carpathians without unnecessary pretension.
