Hrystyna is a cozy three-star hotel in Yablunytsya that’s definitely worth considering if you’re planning a trip to the Carpathians. I stayed here last spring during a hike to Hoverla, and I can say it was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is located on Heroiv Maidanu Street — quite a quiet spot, though sometimes in the morning you can hear locals preparing for work (but this adds authenticity rather than being bothersome). Parking is free right next to the hotel, which is very convenient, especially when you arrive with a trunk full of hiking gear.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, though don’t expect five-star luxury — everything here is practical and homey. I had a room on the second floor with a mountain view (simply magical!), and the staff helped with heavy backpacks without any issues. Check-in was quick, though the receptionist spoke mainly Ukrainian — this might be a slight inconvenience for foreign guests. Internet works reliably, which is important if you need to check the weather forecast before hiking. Breakfasts are simple but tasty — homemade pastries, local cheeses, and always fresh coffee.
I especially recommend the hotel in winter and during off-season when prices are lower and the views of snow-covered Carpathians are simply unbeatable. In summer it can get a bit noisy due to tourists, but the overall atmosphere remains friendly. From the hotel it’s convenient to reach the main tourist routes — the ski lift is literally a 10-minute walk away. Overall, for its price Hrystyna offers excellent value for money, especially if you’re looking for a base for active mountain recreation.
Travelers should book a hotel in Bukovel at least two months ahead for major events such as ski competitions and mountain festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular mountain attractions.
