You know what surprised me about Hotel THR Center? For a 3-star place on Bulevardul Basarabilor, it honestly punches way above its weight class. The thing about Curtea de Argeş is that most people just blow through on their way to the mountains or they’re here for a quick peek at the monastery, but if you’re actually staying overnight (which, honestly, more people should), this place gets the balance right. The rooms are clean without being sterile, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable – I’m talking about actually getting decent sleep, not just surviving the night. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being on a main road. The staff seems to genuinely know the area too, which matters when you’re trying to figure out where to grab dinner that isn’t tourist-trap terrible. They pointed me toward this little place about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Check-in was smooth (no standing around waiting while they figure out their computer system), parking is actually available without some complicated dance, and the breakfast… well, it’s not going to change your life, but it’s proper food, not just sad pastries and instant coffee. The location works really well if you’re planning to explore the Princely Court or the cathedral in the morning – you can walk to the main sights without dealing with parking headaches, which anyone who’s tried to drive around the old center will tell you is worth its weight in gold. Plus, if you’re continuing south toward the Carpathians, you’re positioned perfectly to get an early start without fighting through Bucharest traffic. It’s one of those places where everything just… works, you know? Not flashy, just solid.
