Hotel Belweder – przy hotelu Golebiewski

You know what struck me first about Hotel Belweder? It’s this unassuming little place tucked right on Szkolna Street that honestly punches way above its weight class. I mean, it’s technically a 2-star hotel, but don’t let that fool you – the 8.8 rating isn’t some fluke. The whole setup is connected to the much larger Golebiewski complex, which actually works in your favor because you get access to their facilities without paying their prices. Pretty clever, if you ask me.

The location is what really sold me on this place. Karpacz can get absolutely mental during ski season and summer hiking months, but being on Szkolna puts you just far enough from the main tourist chaos while still being walkable to everything that matters. You’re maybe ten minutes on foot to the Kopa chairlift, and honestly, after a day on the slopes, that’s about all the walking you want to do anyway. The parking situation is actually decent too – which, trust me, is not something you can say about most places in Karpacz when it’s busy. I’ve seen people circling the main town center for an hour looking for a spot.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. Not just the generic “oh yes, very beautiful mountain” stuff you get at some places, but real recommendations. The woman at reception told me about this trail that starts basically behind the hotel that most tourists never find – saved me from joining the crowds huffing up to Śnieżka on the main path. The rooms themselves are simple but clean, and here’s the thing – they’re quiet. You’d think being connected to a bigger hotel complex would mean noise, but the way it’s set up, you’re sort of in your own little bubble. The breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but it’s solid Polish hotel fare, and the coffee is actually drinkable (which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in the Sudetes). Only minor gripe is that the WiFi gets a bit spotty on the upper floors, but honestly, you’re in the mountains – maybe that’s not the worst thing in the world.
