Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Hotel Anda on Carol I Boulevard – I mean, Sinaia has so many places claiming to be special. But walking through those doors, you immediately get why this place has that crazy 9.6 rating. There’s something about the way they’ve done the interiors that feels both elegant and actually comfortable, not like those stuffy places where you’re afraid to sit on anything.

The location is what really got me though. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Peles Castle (which, let’s be honest, is why most people come to Sinaia in the first place), but here’s the thing locals know – you’re also perfectly positioned for those early morning hikes up to Omu Peak if that’s your thing. The staff actually knows the trail conditions, not just the tourist brochure stuff. I loved that I could grab coffee at 6 AM before heading out, and the front desk guy – I think his name was Alex – gave me the real scoop on which cable car station to use depending on the season. You know what surprised me most? The soundproofing. Carol I can get pretty busy with tour buses during peak season, but once you’re in your room, it’s genuinely quiet. I’m someone who usually travels with earplugs, but I didn’t need them here.

The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – they do this thing where they source a lot of ingredients from local suppliers in the Prahova Valley, so you’re getting actual Romanian mountain cheese and honey that tastes like it came from someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. I mean, sure, they have the standard international options, but why would you skip the local stuff? The dining room overlooks this small garden area where they apparently grow their own herbs, and honestly, sitting there with proper coffee while planning your day feels pretty perfect. Parking was surprisingly easy too – they have their own lot, which if you’ve ever tried to find a spot near the castle area during summer, you’ll appreciate. The whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of just checking boxes on some hospitality manual.
