Хочу в Карпати is a three-star hotel that truly lives up to its name. When I first saw this name, I thought it was a bit funny, but after staying there I realized — the owners just honestly described what every guest feels. Located in Skole, the hotel sits in a quiet area where you wake up in the morning not to cars, but to birds (which is actually very pleasant after city hustle). Parking is free, which is rare for the Carpathians — you just drive up and park your car by the entrance.
The rooms are simple but cozy, with wooden furniture and mountain views. Internet works fine (I checked — even video calls went without problems), hot water is always available, which is important after hiking. Staff is friendly and knows local routes — the guys at reception gave me a map with marked trails that I still keep. Breakfasts are homemade, nothing fancy, but tasty — especially the cottage cheese pancakes with local sour cream.
What pleasantly surprised me — the hotel operates year-round, and it’s cozy there in winter too (I was there in February). Heating is good, there’s a fireplace in the lobby where it’s nice to sit in the evening with tea. It’s close to ski lifts, but not so close that you hear the noise. The only minus — walls are a bit thin, so if neighbors are loud, you can hear conversations. But overall for this price it’s a wonderful option for those who come to enjoy the Carpathians, not sit in their room. Rating 8.0 out of 10 — well deserved.
