Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of mountain places over the years, but Hillside VIP Residence III actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. First off, don’t let the fancy “VIP” name fool you into thinking it’s some stuffy corporate hotel. These are proper little houses (domki, as the locals say) perched right next to the ski lift, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re hauling gear around at 7 AM.

The location on Myśliwska street is pretty much perfect if you know Karpacz at all. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the lift – I timed it because I’m that kind of person – but far enough from the main drag that you don’t get the late-night crowd stumbling past your window. The houses themselves have this cozy, almost cabin-like feel without being rustic to the point of inconvenience. You know what I really appreciated? The kitchens are actually functional. I mean, you can cook a proper meal, not just heat up instant noodles. There’s real counter space and decent cookware, which matters when you’ve been on the slopes all day and just want to make something warm without trekking into town.

What really sets this place apart though is how the Royal Aparts team runs things. Check-in was smooth – they actually meet you at the property rather than making you hunt down some random office. The woman who showed us around knew the area inside and out, gave us solid recommendations for the quieter hiking trails (the ones tourists don’t usually find) and warned us about which restaurant gets packed on weekends. That 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated review nonsense either – you can tell they actually care about the details. The heating works properly (crucial in the mountains, obviously), the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the beds are comfortable enough that you’ll actually sleep well after a long day outside. I did notice the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re traveling with friends who like to stay up late, just keep that in mind. But honestly, most people here are the active type who crash pretty early anyway. The whole setup just works – you get the independence of having your own space but with the reliability of a well-managed property. If you’re the kind of traveler who wants to feel settled rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.
