Guest Apart Polyana turned out to be a pleasant surprise during our Carpathian trip. This three-star hotel is located right on Gagarina Street — quite quiet, though you can sometimes hear cars passing in the morning. Free parking right at the entrance, which is very convenient, especially when you’re carrying lots of gear for a mountain vacation. Check-in went smoothly (we arrived around 3:30 PM), staff is friendly and speaks Ukrainian — always a plus.
The studio rooms are quite spacious, with a kitchenette including fridge and stove — we made our own breakfasts since there’s a small shop nearby. The furniture looks a bit dated, but everything is clean and works properly. Wi-Fi works well even on the second floor. The shower cabin is compact, but hot water is available constantly. The only odd thing — our room had a strange smell of some air freshener, but we got used to it after a day or two.
Polyana is generally a wonderful little town as a base — it’s convenient to drive to Dragobrat from here or just walk around the area. The hotel operates year-round, but it’s probably especially cozy in winter (we were there in autumn). For the money — quite a decent option, especially if you’re not looking for luxury, just a clean place to sleep after days in the fresh air. The 8.0 out of 10 rating is well-deserved, I recommend it for unpretentious travelers.
