Green Hills turned out to be a real gem in Verkhovyna — I didn’t expect such a level of service from a five-star hotel in a mountain town! Located on Viacheslav Chornovil Street, it has the perfect spot: close to the center, but quiet enough for proper rest. Parking is free (which is rare for such hotels), and the reception staff is always ready to help with Carpathian routes — they really know the area, not just reading from brochures.
The rooms are spacious, with panoramic mountain views — especially stunning early morning when fog wraps around the slopes. Wi-Fi works reliably even on upper floors (checked personally while working remotely for a few days). The restaurant prepares excellent local dishes — I recommend the Hutsul banosh, and breakfasts are so hearty you can easily skip lunch. Only downside: walls are a bit thin, so if neighbors are noisy, you can hear conversations, but generally the atmosphere is peaceful.
Best to visit in autumn or winter — Green Hills is especially cozy when there’s snow or golden foliage around. Summer is nice too, but more crowded with tourists. Staff organizes excursions to nearby waterfalls and can call a taxi anytime (important since public transport isn’t great here). The overall 8.0 rating is well deserved — the hotel isn’t perfect, but it’s one of the best places to stay in the Carpathians where you truly feel cared for as a guest.
The concierge service in the Carpathians can arrange exclusive Hutsul village tours, secure private mineral spring visits, and organize trips to ancient Khotyn Fortress and pristine Synevyr Lake.
