Grand Hotel Pylypets turned out to be a pleasant discovery during our latest trip to the Carpathians. Located right in the center of Pylypets village, the hotel truly lives up to its four-star status — though not without its quirks. Check-in was quick (we arrived around 3:30 PM), the staff is friendly and speaks Ukrainian, which is always nice. Parking is free right at the hotel, which is a real rarity in Pylypets, especially in winter when the place is packed with skiers.
The rooms are quite spacious and clean, with great mountain views — we stayed on the third floor and every morning enjoyed watching the fog roll over the peaks. Wi-Fi works reliably (important for work), air conditioning too without complaints. Breakfasts are varied, though sometimes there are queues — the hotel is popular with tour groups. One downside: the walls aren’t very soundproof, so if your neighbors are noisy, you might hear conversations. But overall the atmosphere is peaceful.
What we especially liked was the location — it’s just a 10-minute walk to the Migovo lift, and there are plenty of cafes and little shops around. In autumn it’s divinely beautiful here, though the roads can be slippery after rain. The price matches the quality, staff is always ready to help with routes or recommend where to eat better. We’ll definitely return — you feel at home here, just with better views outside the window.
