You know what caught me off guard about Górskie Szczyty Apart & SPA? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – I mean, it’s definitely nice, but it’s more like staying at your well-off friend’s mountain apartment than some glossy resort. And honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well in Zakopane.

The location on Żeromskiego street is pretty sweet – you’re far enough from the main Krupówki tourist madness that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM, but close enough that you can walk to all the good stuff without breaking a sweat. I actually ended up walking to the cable car station most mornings, which takes maybe 15 minutes if you don’t mind a bit of uphill (and let’s be real, everything in Zakopane is uphill from somewhere). The parking situation is legit too – they actually mean it when they say it’s included, which is kind of a miracle in this town where finding a spot can turn into a whole ordeal.

What really sold me on the place was coming back after a long day on the trails and sinking into that jacuzzi. It’s not huge – maybe fits four people comfortably – but the water gets properly hot and there’s something about soaking your tired legs while looking out at the Tatras that just hits different. The sauna’s right there too, though I’ll be honest, after hiking all day the last thing I wanted was more heat, so I mostly stuck to the jacuzzi. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile – you’ve got a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (the local kielbasa from the market down the street, maybe some oscypek if you’re feeling fancy), and the wifi works well enough for video calls, which matters if you’re trying to extend your stay and work remotely. The place sleeps about six people spread across a couple bedrooms, and while it’s not going to win any design awards, everything works and it’s clean. You can hear your neighbors sometimes – these old buildings aren’t exactly soundproof – but it’s more like footsteps than actual noise complaints. I’d definitely come back, especially in winter when you really appreciate having that spa setup after a day on the slopes. For a 3-star place with an 8 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.
