Honestly, when I first pulled up to GórSKI Przystanek Apartament Koziniec on that little side street off Droga na Antałówkę, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The location is sort of perfect if you ask me. I mean, you’re literally a stone’s throw from the Antałówkę area, which locals know is one of the quieter spots to access some really solid hiking trails without fighting the crowds that swarm the main Krupówki strip. The apartment itself – it’s on the fifth floor, so heads up if you’ve got heavy luggage – has this genuinely cozy mountain vibe that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. The windows face toward the Tatras, and honestly, waking up to that view never gets old, even if you’re staying for a week like I did. What really struck me was how thoughtfully set up everything was. The kitchen actually has proper cooking equipment (not those sad little hotel hotplates), which came in handy since Zakopane’s restaurant scene, while charming, can get pricey if you’re eating out every meal. There’s decent storage space too – something you don’t always think about until you’re living out of a suitcase for several days.

The whole building feels authentic rather than some glossy vacation rental complex. You’ll hear your neighbors occasionally, but it’s not disruptive – just the normal sounds of people living their lives, which I actually found kind of comforting. Parking can be a bit tricky on that street during peak season (July and August get pretty intense), but the host was really helpful about suggesting alternatives nearby. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward waiting around or confusing key pickup situations. What really won me over was the little details that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. Fresh linens that smell like they were dried outside, decent water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound weird – but the internet actually works well, which is a godsend if you need to stay connected or plan your next day’s adventures. The neighborhood gets quiet after about 9 PM, so you can actually sleep without earplugs, unlike some places closer to the main tourist drag. It’s close enough to walk into town when you want the energy and restaurants, but far enough that you feel like you’re staying somewhere real people live, not just in tourist-land. For a 3-star place, it honestly punches above its weight – I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places that felt way more generic and soulless than this.
