Here’s the thing about staying in Poronin that locals know but tourists often miss – you’re actually in a better position to explore the region than if you were stuck in the Zakopane crowds. The village has this authentic Góral culture feel that hasn’t been completely sanitized for visitors, and you can walk to some lesser-known trailheads that connect to the same mountain networks everyone else drives twenty minutes to reach. The staff at GORSKA OSADA seemed to get this too – they’re not just pointing you toward the obvious tourist spots but actually know the area well enough to suggest alternatives when Morskie Oko is packed (which, let’s be honest, it usually is).
