GORGANY resort & SPA turned out to be a real gem in the mountains — I stayed here last winter and still remember it fondly. This four-star hotel is located in Dil hamlet near Yablunytsya, and while the road there is a bit winding (especially in winter), it’s worth it. Parking is free, which was a pleasant surprise since mountain hotels usually charge for it. Check-in went smoothly — the staff is friendly, though not everyone speaks English.
The rooms are spacious and cozy, with mountain views (if you’re lucky). I had a standard room on the second floor — everything was clean, new plumbing, WiFi worked reliably. The SPA area is truly impressive: large pool, saunas, jacuzzi. Though it gets quite crowded on weekends, so it’s better to go in the morning or evening. Soft bathrobes and slippers are a nice bonus that you don’t always find even in pricier places.
The restaurant cooks well, especially Hutsul dishes — definitely try the banosh! Breakfasts are varied, though sometimes there were queues for omelets (they cook them fresh for you). In winter it’s perfect for skiers — about fifteen minutes’ drive to the lifts, and in summer you can hike directly from the hotel. The only thing that was slightly bothersome — the walls aren’t super thick, so if neighbors are noisy, it can be uncomfortable. Overall the atmosphere is relaxing, staff tries hard, and the price-quality ratio is quite fair for this level in the Carpathians.
