The apartment itself sits in this traditional wooden building that honestly looks like it belongs in a fairy tale, but inside it’s been done up with all the modern touches you actually want (good WiFi, proper heating, a kitchen that doesn’t make you want to cry). The antresola – that’s the loft area – is where they’ve got the sleeping space, and it’s cozy without being cramped. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Karpielówka isn’t one of those streets where you’ve got buses rumbling by at 6 AM, so you can actually sleep in if you want to. Here’s the thing about staying in Kościelisko versus Zakopane proper: you’re about a 10-minute drive from all the main action, but you skip the summer crowds and those inflated center-town prices. There’s a decent grocery store walkable from the apartment, and honestly, some of the best oscypek I’ve had came from a little stand just down the road. If you’re planning to hit the trails – and let’s be honest, that’s probably why you’re here – the parking situation is way less stressful than dealing with Zakopane’s madness. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned for both the popular routes and some of the quieter paths that locals actually use. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but everything works like it should and the views… well, you’ll spend way too much time just staring out the window with your morning coffee. That 9 rating from other guests makes total sense once you’ve been there.
