There’s this path that leads up to some old shepherd huts about an hour’s walk from the site – most people miss it entirely because it’s not marked on the tourist maps. The village itself is pretty quiet (some might say too quiet), but that’s exactly why you come here. You can actually hear the wildlife at night, and I’m not talking about drunk tourists stumbling around. Parking is straightforward, right on the property, which is more than you can say for a lot of mountain accommodations where you’re hauling your luggage up some ridiculous path. The check-in process is refreshingly simple too – no fancy digital systems that crash, just actual humans who know what they’re doing. With an 8.9 rating, it’s clear other people are figuring out what I did: this isn’t trying to be glamorous glamping with champagne and ridiculous amenities. It’s just solid, comfortable camping that lets you focus on why you came to this part of Romania in the first place.
