You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from a place with such a ridiculously long name, but Giewont View really surprised me. The location on Grunwaldzka is actually perfect – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Krupówki (that’s the main pedestrian strip where all the action happens), but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing Polish folk songs at 2 AM. Trust me on this one.

The apartment I stayed in had this amazing view of Mount Giewont – hence the name, obviously – and honestly, waking up to see that iconic sleeping knight silhouette every morning never got old. The sauna was a game-changer after spending the day hiking in the Tatras or skiing at Kasprowy Wierch. It’s not huge, mind you, but it gets properly hot and there’s something deeply satisfying about sweating out all those pierogi and oscypek cheese you’ve been devouring. The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s stylish mountain home than a typical rental – exposed beams, quality linens, and a kitchen that actually has everything you need (including a decent coffee maker, which is rarer than you’d think in Polish mountain towns).

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re so close to the center. The building feels solid – none of those paper-thin walls you find in newer developments. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Zakopane’s narrow streets during peak season will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The owners clearly know what they’re doing; check-in was smooth, and they actually gave useful local tips instead of just handing over keys. I mean, they told me about this little trail behind the building that connects to the bigger hiking routes – saved me from walking through town every time I wanted to hit the mountains. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight, and that 9 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there.
