Five House in Skhidnitsa turned out to be a real discovery during our Carpathian trip in September. This three-star hotel is located on Chornovola Street — quite a quiet location, though you can sometimes hear cars passing by in the morning. Parking is free right at the hotel, which is very convenient, especially when you arrive with luggage after a long drive. Check-in went smoothly (even a bit earlier than standard time), the staff is friendly and ready to help with any questions about local trails.
The rooms are clean and cozy, though a bit compact — but for a mountain hotel that’s quite normal. Windows face the slopes, so you wake up with a wonderful forest view in the morning. Soundproofing is decent, though if your neighbors are very loud, you might hear conversations. Wi-Fi works stably even on the second floor, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfasts are homemade and hearty — especially loved the potato pancakes and local honey. The owners gave useful advice about hiking to waterfalls and where it’s best to buy mineral water (by the way, you can get it at the hotel too). In winter, it’s probably especially cozy here — there’s a fireplace in the lobby, and in summer you can sit on the terrace. For this price and quality of service — definitely recommend, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful place to relax in the mountains.
