You know what struck me first about Exclusive Hotel & More? The name honestly sounds a bit cheesy – like they couldn’t decide what to call it – but don’t let that fool you. This place is actually a gem tucked away on Strada Ion Luca Caragiale, and I mean properly tucked away. You’ll walk past it twice before you spot the entrance, which is sort of charming in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The thing about this location is that it’s one of those spots where you get the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to Sibiu’s old town that you can walk to the main square in about ten minutes (maybe fifteen if you’re the type who stops to look at every medieval building), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds stumbling back from the bars at 2 AM. The street itself is quiet – I actually slept with the windows open in May and only heard the occasional car. There’s decent parking too, which honestly surprised me because finding a spot in Sibiu can be a nightmare, especially during festival season.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that balance between feeling upscale without being stuffy. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe but with enough character that you don’t feel like you’re staying in a business hotel. The beds – and I’m picky about this – are actually comfortable, not just fancy-looking. I noticed they use proper blackout curtains too, which is a godsend if you’re trying to sleep off jet lag or just want to sleep in after exploring the city until late. The bathrooms are well-designed, with decent water pressure and those little touches that make you think someone actually stays in these rooms and knows what works. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not perfect, but the things they do well, they do really well.

The staff genuinely seem to know the area, which is rarer than it should be. When I asked about restaurants, they didn’t just hand me a generic list – they actually asked what I was in the mood for and gave me specific recommendations based on that. One of them steered me toward this incredible traditional Romanian spot that I never would have found on my own, tucked away in a basement on a side street near the Evangelical Cathedral.

Here’s the thing though – this isn’t a place for everyone. If you need a massive lobby with marble everywhere and a concierge in a fancy uniform, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you want somewhere that feels thoughtfully run, where the details matter and you can actually relax after a long day of wandering around Sibiu’s cobblestone streets, this is your spot. The “More” in the name might be mysterious, but what you get is a solid four-star experience that punches above its weight without trying too hard to impress you.
