The hotel itself feels like someone put actual thought into the design instead of just throwing together generic mountain lodge décor. The rooms are spacious – I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without playing furniture Tetris – and the bathrooms have those rainfall showerheads that make you want to stay in there way too long. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building (tested it extensively while avoiding a rainy afternoon), and there’s this cozy lobby area with a fireplace that’s actually functional, not just for show. During winter months, you’ll probably find yourself hanging out there with a coffee after a day on the slopes at Clăbucet, which is maybe ten minutes away by car or shuttle.

What really sets this place apart though is the breakfast situation. I’m usually pretty skeptical of hotel breakfasts – they tend to be either sad continental affairs or overwhelming buffets with mediocre everything. But they’ve got this spread that includes proper local cheeses and meats alongside the usual suspects, plus they make eggs to order. The dining room looks out toward the mountains, so you’re planning your day while you eat, which I love. The service feels genuine too – not that overly rehearsed hospitality you get at chain hotels, but actual helpful people who seem to like their jobs.

One small thing that impressed me: the parking situation is actually sorted out. Sounds boring, but if you’ve ever driven around Romanian mountain towns looking for a spot to leave your car, you’ll appreciate having a proper lot that’s included in your stay. Plus, the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no hidden fees or surprise charges, just exactly what I’d booked online.

The 9.3 rating isn’t just inflated review scores either. This place genuinely feels like a 4-star experience without the pretention that sometimes comes with that territory. Whether you’re using Predeal as a base for hiking, skiing, or just escaping Bucharest for a weekend, the Elexus gives you that comfortable middle ground between roughing it and overpaying for unnecessary luxury. It’s the kind of place I’d actually book again, which says something.
