Just returned from EcoBerghaus – Котеджне містечко, and I can say — this is truly a special place in the mountains. This four-star hotel is located in Preluki valley, a bit away from the main hustle and bustle of Bukovel, but that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. The road to the hotel winds through the forest in serpentines, and when you finally arrive — an incredible mountain view opens up. Parking is free, which was a pleasant surprise (during season this is a real problem in these parts).
The cottages look like real Alpine houses — wooden, cozy, with large floor-to-ceiling windows. We stayed in a two-story cottage with a fireplace, and it was simply wonderful after a day on the slopes. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook yourself (which we did — bought local sausages and cheese at the nearest shop). Internet works stably, though sometimes during snowstorms it can glitch. Heating is excellent — even during February frosts it was warm inside the house.
What I liked most was that the hotel is truly eco-oriented — waste sorting, energy-efficient lamps, wooden architecture harmoniously fits into the landscape. Staff is friendly, though only one person works at reception, so sometimes you have to wait a bit. It’s a 7-10 minute drive to the lifts, but that’s actually a plus — in the evenings it’s quiet and peaceful here, you don’t hear music from bars. In winter the scenery is simply magical, and in summer, I think, it must be even more beautiful for hiking. Rating 8.0 out of 10 — well deserved.
