The name made me expect some basic, bare-bones place with hemp towels and composting toilets, but this is actually a proper 4-star spot that just happens to take sustainability seriously. It’s tucked away on Strada Coziei, which honestly isn’t where you’d expect to find a gem like this – I mean, it’s a quiet residential street about ten minutes from Deva’s center, so you get that peaceful vibe without being stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The building itself has this modern, clean-lined look that somehow doesn’t feel cold or sterile. Walking in, there’s this subtle woody smell (I think it’s from their reclaimed wood features?) and everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. The staff actually seems to know what they’re talking about when it comes to the eco stuff – not just spouting marketing lines, but genuinely explaining why they chose bamboo flooring or how their solar panels work. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, and here’s something I appreciated: the windows are properly soundproofed, which matters because even though Strada Coziei is quiet, Romanian drivers… well, let’s just say they’re enthusiastic about their horns.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that actually matter. The shower pressure is fantastic (always a gamble in Romania, honestly), they’ve got proper blackout curtains that actually block light, and the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into quicksand. Plus, parking is included and easy – there’s a proper lot behind the building, not some nightmare parallel parking situation on the street. The breakfast spread is solid too, with lots of local stuff mixed in with the usual continental options. I’d say the only minor gripe is that the elevator is a bit slow, but honestly, that’s me being picky. The location works really well if you’re exploring the Hunedoara area – you’re close enough to pop into Deva when you want restaurants or shops, but far enough out that you can actually sleep at night. With a 9.4 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back.
