Дзен Хата turned out to be a real gem in присілок Степанський — a place I’d never even heard of before this trip to Dzembronia. This three-star hotel looks pretty modest from the outside, but inside there’s that same peaceful atmosphere the name promises. The owners clearly put their hearts into this place: rooms are clean and cozy, with wooden furniture and warm colors that immediately put you in vacation mode. Parking is free right by the entrance (which isn’t always obvious in the mountains), and check-in was quick — the hosts speak both Ukrainian and English.
The location is perfect for those coming to the Carpathians for peace and nature. In the morning, the window opens to views of green slopes, and the only “noise” is birds and occasionally the distant sound of a tractor. It’s about 10 minutes’ drive to the center of Dzembronia, but honestly, you don’t really want to go anywhere — it’s such bliss here. Breakfast is simple but tasty: homemade bread, local cheese, scrambled eggs with vegetables from their own garden. WiFi works pretty well, though in the mountains it’s always a lottery.
What I liked most was the staff’s attitude — they don’t just do their job, they genuinely care about guests. When I arrived late in the evening (GPS got me a bit confused), they met me with a flashlight and helped with my luggage. The only downside — it can be chilly here in autumn, especially in the mornings, so bring warm clothes. For this price and with an 8.0 rating — it’s a wonderful option for a peaceful getaway in the Carpathians, especially if you’re tired of city hustle and bustle.
