I stayed at Domki w Karpaczu SARNIA during a particularly cold March weekend, and honestly, there’s something magical about coming back from hiking in the Karkonosze Mountains to a place where you can build an actual fire.

The location on Sarnia street is sort of perfect if you know Karpacz at all. You’re tucked away from the main tourist chaos around the wooden church area, but still close enough that you can walk to decent restaurants without needing the car every time. The cabins themselves have this rustic-modern thing going on – think exposed wood beams but with proper insulation and heating (thank god, because mountain nights get brutal). Each unit feels genuinely private, which is rare in Polish mountain resorts where you’re usually crammed next to other tourists. The Sun & Snow management clearly put thought into the spacing.

What I really appreciated was the little stuff nobody mentions in booking photos. Like, there’s actually decent kitchen equipment if you want to cook – not just the bare minimum pot and pan situation. The beds are properly comfortable, and the wifi works even when half of Karpacz seems to be streaming movies. Parking is right there, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling ski gear or hiking boots. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that “meet us at a random office across town” nonsense you sometimes get with cabin rentals. I mean, the 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs. Sure, you’ll hear some noise from neighboring cabins if people are being loud (the walls aren’t soundproof), but honestly, most guests seem to respect the mountain peace. If you’re planning to visit during peak season – July, August, or ski season – book way ahead because these places fill up fast, and for good reason.
