The parking situation is straightforward (no hunting for spots or paying extra fees), and the hosts clearly know the area inside and out. They’ll point you toward trails that aren’t packed with tour groups, or tell you which restaurants in town are worth the walk versus which ones are tourist traps. I found myself spending way more time just relaxing on the property than I usually do at hotels, partly because of the jakuzzi but also because there’s this laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re visiting friends rather than checking into accommodation.
