The name literally means “cottages at 1010 meters,” and they’re not kidding about the elevation thing. You feel it the moment you step outside – that crisp mountain air that makes you want to take ridiculously deep breaths like you’re in some wellness commercial. The accommodations themselves are these cozy wooden structures that feel properly Polish mountain style, not some generic alpine knockoff. I mean, the attention to detail is impressive – everything from the way they’ve done the interiors to how they’ve positioned the buildings to catch those morning mountain views. You know what really got me though? The quiet. I stayed here in late spring when things were picking up tourist-wise, but evenings were still wonderfully peaceful. Just the sound of wind through the trees and maybe some distant cowbells if you’re lucky.

What makes this place special isn’t just the setting – though waking up to those Tatra peaks never gets old – it’s how they’ve managed to feel authentically local while still hitting all the comfort marks you want. The hosts clearly know their stuff about the region; they’ll point you toward hiking trails that aren’t completely overrun and actually give you realistic time estimates (which, trust me, is rarer than it should be). Parking’s straightforward, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with mountain roads and rental cars. The whole check-in process was refreshingly normal – no weird complications or surprise fees, just “here’s your key, here’s how things work, let us know if you need anything.”

I’ll be honest, the 4-star rating feels about right – it’s comfortable and well-run without being fancy for fancy’s sake. That 9-point rating from other guests makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, which sounds simple but is surprisingly hard to find. If you’re planning to explore this part of Poland and want somewhere that feels like an actual retreat rather than just a place to crash, this is your spot. Fair warning though – once you’ve had your morning coffee looking out at those mountains, everywhere else is going to feel a bit flat for a while.
