You can walk to the aqua park in about 10 minutes, and the cable car to Gubałówka is maybe 15 minutes on foot. There’s this little grocery store just around the corner that stays open late, which saved me when I needed snacks for an early morning hike.

Look, it’s not going to win any luxury awards – the rating of 7 out of 10 feels pretty accurate. Sometimes the hot water takes a minute to kick in, and if you’re on the street-facing side, you’ll hear some traffic in the mornings. But honestly? For Zakopane, especially during peak season, this place delivers exactly what it promises. The owners seem to actually care about the property, and there’s parking (trust me, that’s not a given in this part of town). If you’re the type who wants to experience Zakopane without staying in some soulless chain hotel, and you don’t need marble bathrooms to be happy, Domek Drewniany hits that sweet spot of authentic, affordable, and well-located.
