The location puts you about 15 minutes from Zakopane proper, but you’re also right there for accessing some of the better hiking trails that locals prefer over the crowded routes everyone else hits. I stayed in early September, which turned out to be perfect timing – still warm enough for serious hiking, but past the summer crowds, so the whole area felt more authentic. That 9-out-of-10 rating they’ve got? Yeah, I get it. It’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but for what it is – a solid, comfortable base for exploring this gorgeous part of Poland – it really delivers.
