The floors have this warm wood finish that actually stays warm (trust me, important in Romanian winters), and the windows are these big affairs that frame the Carpathian foothills perfectly. I spent way too much time just standing there with my morning coffee, watching the mist roll through the valleys. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – not just the usual mini-fridge and hot plate situation. I actually cooked a few meals there using ingredients from the Carrefour down in the new part of town, though honestly, with all the great restaurants in Brașov’s center, I’m not sure why I bothered.

What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you get from staying here. The locals on this street are friendly enough to give you directions, and I discovered this little bakery about two blocks down that opens ridiculously early and makes these incredible cozonac pastries. You won’t find that staying in the tourist hotels near Piața Sfatului. Parking’s straightforward too – there’s space right outside, which anyone who’s tried to navigate old Brașov’s narrow streets will appreciate. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the building’s entrance can be a bit tricky to spot at night (the street lighting’s not amazing), but once you know where it is, no problem. Check-in was smooth – the owner met me personally and gave me this whole rundown of local recommendations that was way more useful than any guidebook. That 9.7 rating makes total sense when you experience that kind of personal attention. If you want to feel like you’re actually living in Brașov rather than just passing through, this is exactly the kind of place that makes that happen.
