Cozy Collection Studios and Flats – Coresi Mall Brasov
Honestly, when I first pulled up to the Cozy Collection Studios on Zaharia Stancu Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name makes it sound like some trendy boutique place, but it’s actually this really practical setup that just works. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Coresi Mall, which I know sounds touristy, but hear me out – having that massive shopping center right there means you’ve got everything from decent coffee at 5 to 5 Coffee (they do this amazing Romanian twist on flat whites) to late-night groceries at Carrefour when you realize you forgot toothpaste.
The studios themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d want if you’re spending more than a couple nights in Brașov. I mean, having a proper kitchenette changes everything when you’re traveling. You can grab fresh bread from the bakery near the mall entrance and actually make yourself a decent breakfast instead of hunting for overpriced hotel food. The apartments feel lived-in rather than sterile – good quality furniture that doesn’t look like it came from the same catalog as every other place, and the wifi actually works consistently (tested it on video calls, no issues). What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re close to all the action. The street doesn’t get much through traffic, so you’re not dealing with cars racing by at 2 AM.
Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where locals actually live and work – not stuck in the touristy old town bubble, but close enough that you can walk to Council Square in about 20 minutes if the weather’s decent. The real advantage though is being on this side of town when you want to explore beyond Brașov. Poiana Brașov is a quick bus ride away, and if you’re planning day trips to Bran Castle or Peleș Castle, you’re not fighting through old town traffic to get out of the city. Plus, there’s this little Romanian restaurant called Casa Hirscher just down the street that does incredible ciorbă de burtă – not exactly tourist food, but the kind of place you stumble into and remember months later. The 8.4 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but everything works the way it should, the value is solid for what you get, and honestly, that matters more when you’re using a place as a base to explore Transylvania properly.
