Cottages Shepit Lisu is a real gem for those seeking cozy relaxation in the Carpathians. Located in the picturesque village of Rosokhach in Skolevsky rayon, this four-star hotel impresses with its authenticity and warm atmosphere. When we arrived in autumn, the foliage around the cottages created an incredible golden palette — photos simply don’t capture all the beauty! Parking is free right next to the cottages, which is very convenient, especially when you’re bringing lots of gear for a mountain getaway. Check-in went smoothly, the hosts are very welcoming and eagerly share information about local trails.
The cottages themselves are built in traditional Hutsul style — wooden, with all amenities, but without excessive luxury (which, in my opinion, only adds to the charm). Each has a small kitchen where you can prepare something simple, though the local cuisine in the restaurant is worth trying. I especially recommend the mushroom borscht — just like my grandmother used to make. Evenings here are wonderfully quiet, with only the sounds of the forest and a nearby stream. In summer, it’s probably even better — you can sit longer on the terrace with a cup of tea, admiring the starry sky.
The 8.0 rating is well-deserved: the hotel doesn’t pretend to be a five-star resort, but it does what it promises — gives you a chance to experience the real Carpathians without city hustle. The only downside is that mobile internet doesn’t work everywhere (but is that really a downside for a vacation?). We’ll definitely return here in winter — I can imagine how magical these cottages look under snow. If you’re looking for a place where you can truly escape the city and enjoy nature, then Cottages Shepit Lisu is exactly what you need.
