It’s tucked away on Narutowicza street – you know, that quieter stretch that runs parallel to the main drag but without all the tour bus chaos. When I first pulled up, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name (olimpijki means “female Olympians” in Polish, which is sort of charming in a retro way), but the moment you step inside, you can tell someone actually cares about this place.

The thing about Karpacz is that it can feel pretty touristy, especially during ski season when everyone’s rushing to get to Śnieżka or the cable car. But this little chata – and I mean that in the best way, it really does have that mountain cottage vibe – sits just far enough from the madness that you can actually hear yourself think. The rooms have this authentic Polish mountain feel without being kitschy about it, if you know what I mean. Real wood, proper heating (which matters more than you’d think in winter), and windows that actually open when you want some of that crisp Karkonosze air. I was there in late spring, and honestly, waking up to the sound of birds instead of tour groups was worth the slightly longer walk to the center.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail – like, the kind of stuff you only notice when someone’s thought it through. Good water pressure, outlets where you actually need them, and the owners clearly know the area. They’ll tell you which trails are worth your time and which restaurants the locals actually eat at (hint: it’s not the big places on the main pedestrian zone). The parking situation is solid too, which anyone who’s driven around Karpacz in summer will appreciate. I mean, finding a spot near the market square can be a nightmare, but here you’re sorted. And that 9.9 rating? Yeah, I get it. It’s not trying to be some grand resort – it’s just doing everything really, really well. If you want to experience the Karkonosze without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap, this is your place.
