You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Chata Javor on Javorova street – honestly, the name made me think it’d be some basic mountain lodge situation. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked into Veľká Lomnica in this perfect spot where you can literally see the High Tatras looming right there, and I mean *right there*, not some distant postcard view. The building itself has that solid, alpine feel without being overly rustic or trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy.
The thing that got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the area. Like, when I asked about hiking trails, the woman at reception didn’t just hand me a generic brochure – she actually walked me through which routes would be good for the weather that week and mentioned this local bakery in town where I could grab proper hiking snacks (not just overpriced hotel bar food). The rooms are honestly better than I expected for a 4-star mountain place. Mine had this huge window facing the peaks, and yeah, I definitely spent way too much time just staring out there with my morning coffee. The beds are actually comfortable too, which… you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. There’s decent WiFi if you need it, though honestly, you might find yourself wanting to disconnect anyway.
What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation – they do this spread with local cheeses and meats, and I swear the bread was from somewhere nearby because it tasted nothing like hotel breakfast bread usually does. Plus, the dining area has these big windows where you can watch the light change on the mountains while you eat. Parking was no hassle at all, which is huge when you’re dealing with mountain towns where you sometimes end up walking half a mile with your luggage. The whole vibe is just… relaxed, I guess? Like, it’s clearly well-run and professional (that 9 rating isn’t a fluke), but without any of that stuffy hotel atmosphere that makes you feel like you need to tiptoe around. If you’re planning to explore the High Tatras or just want to decompress somewhere with actual mountain views instead of just claiming to have them, this is definitely worth considering. Just book ahead if you’re coming during peak hiking season – I get the feeling this place fills up fast once people discover it.

First of all the owner Zofia is extremely sympathic, helpful and friendly. The house is quite new and fully furnished, bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and big enough . The cherry on the cake is the very big garden and the oustside jaccuzzi !!

The house is great! We spent there a week as a group of 12 friends and it completely overreached our expectations. House was very clean, well equipped and spacious. There is a great tv, speakers, jacuzzi and sauna shower! What’s more- no one didn’t complain on the noisy music :)
The ski resort is about 15 min by car, so it’s pretty close. There is also a huge garden with grill stuff and an outside table, so it’s for sure a great spot also during the summer. The only disadvantage is probably that it isn’t a “typical touristic city”- what I mean is that there is no “city center”, souvenir shops etc. But for a group of friends- we had enough fun :)
There are also two supermarkets quite close- about 3-5min. by car. Summing up, the place is great so is the price!
Hatalmas, tágas ház, jól felszerelt, nagyon tiszta lakótér. A sífelszerelésnek külön szoba van fenntartva, kifejezetten erre a célra szolgáló szárítókkal.

Duży, nowy, bardzo przestronny, miły i wygodny dom dla sporej grupy osób, myślę, że nawet 10 osób może mieszkać swobodnie- 4 duże sypialnie, duża kuchnia i wielki salon z jadalnią. Rewelacja. Jest też kominek na zimne dni.
Spokojna, zadbany okolica, chociaż do szlaków górskich trzeba jednak trochę dojechać.
Jest duży parking pod domem, dobrze wyposażony sklep spożywczy niedaleko i niezłe restauracje w pobliżu.
Jest markowa tarcza do rzutek i piłkarzyki, ale rzutki były słabej jakości, a piłkarzyki wymagają trochę napraw wypadających uchwytów. Ale to drobiazgi. Jest kącik dla małych dzieci, zabawki, mata, fajna sprawa. Piękne, duże wygodne podwórko, taras, grill i plac zabaw z bramką i trampoliną. Dzieci zdecydowanie mają co robić. Dla starszych jacuzzi, ale nie korzystaliśmy, bo była nieco słaba pogoda, natomiast to na pewno duży plus wyposażenia.
Właścicielka miła, w trakcie pytała, czy jest ok i czegoś nam nie potrzeba.
Pasijutume kaip apsistoję pas tetą ar gerą draugę. Viskuo rūpinosi, patarė kur nuvykti pavalgyti, kur galima išsimaudyti. Davė plaukimo reikmenų. Siūlė paruošti kubilą / jakuzzi kieme tik už 50 eur. Buvome 2 šeimos - aštuoniese - visko užtekome pilnai ir nesijautėme suspausti. Labai ramus kvartalas ir kaimynai. Namuose viskas apgalota iki smulkmenų.
Piękna okolica, super ogród, liczne atrakcje dla dzieci. Miła i fachowa obsługa przez gospodarza. Kompletne wyposażenie łazienek i kuchni. Kominek i bania - rewelacyjny !!!
Ubytování není co vytknout. Líbilo se mi naprosto vše. Hostitelé jsou velice milí a příjemní lídé. Dům je krásný, čistý a dostatečně vybavený pro příjemně stráveny čas s rodinou nebo přáteli v Tatrách.
