Chałubińskiego 41 – LoftAffair

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “loft apartment” in Zakopane, I was expecting some cramped converted attic situation. But Chałubińskiego 41 actually surprised me in the best way. The space feels properly lived-in (in a good way), like someone’s stylish cousin just handed you the keys to their place while they’re out of town.

The location is what really sold me on this spot. You’re right on Chałubińskiego, which – and this is something most tourists don’t realize – puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to Krupówki (the main tourist strip) in about ten minutes, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear drunk groups singing Polish folk songs at 2 AM. I mean, you might still hear them faintly, but it’s more like background ambiance than a reason to call the front desk. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Polish apartment block feel, which honestly I find more authentic than staying in some overly polished hotel that could be anywhere in Europe.

What I really appreciated was how the loft actually feels like a loft – high ceilings, decent natural light, and enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage every time you want to grab something from your suitcase. The kitchen setup is pretty solid too, which matters more than you’d think when you realize how expensive it gets eating out for every meal in Zakopane’s tourist zone. Plus, there’s something satisfying about making your morning coffee while looking out at the Tatras in the distance (well, on clear days anyway – this is mountain weather we’re talking about). The Wi-Fi actually works, parking isn’t a complete nightmare, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward.

Now, it’s definitely not luxury – this is a 3-star place and it feels like one, but in a comfortable, unpretentious way. The shower pressure could be better, and sometimes you can hear your neighbors moving around upstairs, but honestly? That’s just apartment living in Poland. What makes LoftAffair work is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You get a clean, spacious place to crash that feels more like staying in someone’s apartment than a sterile hotel room, and you’re positioned perfectly for exploring Zakopane without paying resort prices. If you’re the type who needs room service and daily housekeeping, this probably isn’t your vibe. But if you want somewhere comfortable to decompress after hiking Giewont or dealing with the chaos of Krupówki, and you appreciate having actual space to spread out – plus a kitchen for those inevitable late-night pierogi cravings – this place just makes sense.
