The Toth family – and yes, it’s still family-run – has this way of making the whole experience feel personal without being intrusive. Mrs. Toth actually remembers your coffee preference by day two, which is sort of incredible considering how many guests cycle through. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully arranged with these gorgeous traditional textiles and solid wood furniture that doesn’t feel like it came from a catalog. There’s something about the way morning light hits those hand-woven curtains that makes you want to linger in bed longer than usual.

What really sets this place apart, though, is how it connects you to the area without trying too hard. The breakfast features local ingredients – I’m talking proper smoked meats from the valley, fresh bread that someone actually baked that morning, and honey that tastes like the wildflower meadows you’ll see if you take any of the hiking trails nearby. Speaking of which, the family knows every trail worth taking and isn’t shy about sharing recommendations that go beyond the typical tourist spots. They pointed me toward this incredible viewpoint about twenty minutes up the hill that I never would have found otherwise. Parking is straightforward (no cramped city maneuvering), and the whole property has this quiet, settled feeling – you’ll hear roosters in the morning and maybe some distant church bells, but it’s the kind of peaceful that actually helps you sleep better.
