Будиночок в Східнці-Новий Кропивник is a real gem for those seeking coziness in the heart of the Carpathians. Located on Dovbush Street 15, this three-star hotel truly lives up to its name — you really feel at home here rather than in a standard hotel room. The hosts are very welcoming and always ready to recommend the best hiking routes or where to taste the most delicious Carpathian dishes. Parking is free (which is rare in tourist spots!), and check-in goes smoothly — we were greeted with traditional tea made from local herbs.
The rooms here are genuinely homey — wooden furniture, soft blankets, and windows with wonderful mountain views. Our room had a small kitchenette, which is very convenient if you want to cook something yourself or store products from the local market. Wi-Fi works reliably (we checked — even video calls went without problems), hot water is always available, and the heating in winter is very effective. The only nuance — the walls aren’t very thick, so if neighbors are noisy, you might hear conversations, but this is more an exception than the rule.
Skhidnitsa itself is a true Carpathian paradise, especially in autumn when the forests blaze with all shades of gold and red. It’s about a fifteen-minute leisurely walk to the center with mineral springs, and even closer to popular tourist trails. The hosts told us about a secret waterfall that tourists rarely reach — it was really worth the hike! The 8.0 rating is well deserved: there’s no luxury of five-star hotels here, but there’s something much more valuable — genuine Carpathian hospitality and the opportunity to truly rest from city hustle and bustle.
