Blue Hill by Hillside

I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on Myśliwska Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Blue Hill by Hillside. You know how Karpacz can be, with all those tourist traps scattered around the main strips. But this place? It’s actually tucked away in a spot that feels more like a local secret than a hotel. The building sits right where you can catch those morning mountain views without dealing with the crowds that pile up near the cable car stations.

What really got me was how the owners – and I mean this in the best way – seem to actually give a damn about the details. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no weird upselling or confusing key card explanations), and honestly, the room had that clean, mountain air smell that you just can’t fake. I’ve stayed in enough places around the Sudetes to know when someone’s cutting corners, but here they’ve got things dialed in. The beds are proper comfortable – not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you wondering if you slept on a park bench. And the bathrooms? Well, let’s just say they understand that travelers want decent water pressure and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper.

The location is sort of perfect if you know Karpacz at all. You’re close enough to walk to the decent restaurants (skip the touristy ones on the main drag and head toward the quieter streets), but far enough from the summer chaos that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, during peak season this town can sound like a festival until 2 AM, but from Myśliwska you mostly just get the mountain quiet. Parking’s not a nightmare either, which – if you’ve tried to park anywhere near Śnieżka during hiking season – you’ll appreciate. The whole setup just feels like someone thought through what actual travelers need instead of what looks good in photos. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like more work than just settling in for another night.
