You know what caught me off guard about Blisko Wszędzie? The name literally means “close to everywhere” in Polish, and honestly – they’re not kidding around. I mean, when you’re staying at Wincentego Pola 11, you’re basically in this perfect sweet spot where you can stumble to Krupówki Street in about eight minutes (I timed it), but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear every drunk tourist singing at 2 AM. The building itself is nothing fancy – it’s one of those converted apartment buildings that Zakopane does really well, where someone took a regular residential space and turned it into something that actually works for travelers.

What I really appreciated was how the owners seem to get what people actually need when they’re exploring the Tatras. The place has this lived-in feel that’s way more comfortable than those sterile hotel chains, and you can tell they’ve thought about the little stuff. Like, there’s actually decent water pressure (which, if you’ve spent a day hiking up to Morskie Oko, you’ll understand why this matters), and the heating works properly – something that’s honestly hit or miss in mountain towns during shoulder season. The location is just… well, it’s genius, really. You’re close enough to walk to the cable car station without breaking a sweat, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I stayed there in late September, and while Krupówki was still buzzing with visitors, our street felt almost residential – locals walking their dogs, that sort of thing.

The 9-star rating makes sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be some luxury resort experience. It’s more like staying at a friend’s place, if your friend happened to live in one of Poland’s most beautiful mountain towns and actually knew how to host people properly. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy presentations about spa services you’ll never use – and the owners were the kind of helpful where they’d mark up a local hiking map for you without making it feel like a sales pitch. I mean, for a 3-star place, you’re getting exactly what you need: clean, comfortable, well-located, and run by people who seem to actually care about whether you have a good time in Zakopane. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the morning light in those windows facing the mountains? Perfect for coffee and planning your day before the tour groups descend on everything.
