Blisko miło ładnie Apartament w centrum Zakopanego
Honestly, when I first saw the name “Blisko miło ładnie” I had to laugh a bit – it basically means “close, nice, pretty” in Polish, which sounds like someone just threw together three good words and called it a day. But you know what? They weren’t wrong. This little apartment on Chałubińskiego really does nail all three of those things.
The location is actually perfect if you want to be in the thick of Zakopane without dealing with the complete chaos of Krupówki Street. You’re literally a three-minute walk from all the main action – the wooden architecture, the cheese vendors, the whole tourist scene – but when you duck into this building, it’s surprisingly quiet. I mean, you’ll still hear some street noise during the day, but nothing like what you’d get right on the main drag. The building itself is one of those solid Polish apartment blocks, and the entrance on Chałubińskiego is easy to find, which honestly matters when you’re dragging luggage around cobblestones.
What really struck me about this place is how it manages to feel both practical and cozy at the same time. The apartment isn’t huge – it’s a 3-star place, so set your expectations accordingly – but everything’s been thought through. The kitchen actually has proper pots and pans (not those flimsy tourist apartment things), and there’s enough counter space to spread out if you pick up some oscypek cheese and bread from the market. The bathroom’s compact but functional, with decent water pressure, which you can’t always count on in older buildings around here. The sleeping area is comfortable enough, though if you’re really tall you might feel a bit cramped – but honestly, you’re not coming to Zakopane to hang out in your room anyway.
The real win here is the neighborhood knowledge you get just by staying put. There’s a little grocery store about two blocks down that most tourists never find, and you’re close enough to the bus station that day trips to the Tatra peaks are super manageable. Plus – and this is something I only figured out after a couple days – you can cut through some side streets and hit the cable car station without fighting through the Krupówki crowds. The host seems to know the area well too; I got some solid recommendations for hiking trails that weren’t completely packed with tour groups.
Look, this isn’t a luxury hotel with room service and a spa. But if you want a clean, well-located base for exploring Zakopane without paying resort prices, this apartment delivers exactly what it promises. The 9 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be something fancy, but it does the basics really well. Just don’t expect English everywhere (though the host was patient with my terrible Polish), and maybe bring some extra towels if you’re planning to do serious hiking. For the price point and location, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better in the center of town.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
